We already have a reliable queue at the beginning - so the solution is to *remove* the queue from the middle. Adding another reliable queue would just make life more complex!

Can we consider the current persistence model (the one using two proxies) THE persistence model for Synapse?. As far I can see, the main pitfall of that implementation is that the first proxy has to be used as the service endpoint. So my gut feeling is that it is not a VERY neat way to add persistence. So if we are going to depend on the queuing model, we need to make it bit smarter.
