Due to the changes I did today you need both jdk1.8 and jdk1.7 installed.
You also need to copy the toolchains.xml into ~/.m2/ and modify it according to
your installation locations for java7 and 8 on your local box.
I tried to add instructions to README.md. Hope they are enough to get you going.
