Take a look at [1].  When I created the PR, the email sent included
instructions how to merge the PR, even if we don't have write access.  "git
pull https://github.com/apache/incubator-tamaya-sandbox TAMAYA-260-mp-11"

Now, back when Tamaya was started ASF didn't support writable github.  Now
it does.  Is it something we're interested in?
