As far as licensing issues go I think I understand them already for hibernate as I went through that effort a long time ago on the apache legal lists with Henri / others..That is what Daniel's work will buy us...But we also have to find ways to make sure the "message" / verbage of what the projects do also follow what the board would like as far as external libraries go..
