I've thought of that as well, and it may be easier for me. It's just that 5.0.8 is still a "virtual" release, up until the vote is successful ... but that vote is withdrawn due to this blocker bug.
What do people think? Re-do 5.0.8 or just skip it for 5.0.9? It's pretty much the same amount of work for me.
