Great news, Jochen! As for the documentation, I've already updated much of it for 5.4. For example, all the Tapestry Tutorial pages have been updated with 5.4 text and screen shots. There are some layout changes in the works (mostly to fix mobile) that will be done over the coming weekends. There's more to do, but there will always be more to do. If anyone wants to point out areas that need particular attention, I can spend some time on those and certainly welcome help.
I updated the Hotel Booking demo app to the latest 5.4 beta this past weekend, and am working with the Infrastructure team on a new hosting environment.
