I just closed the last issue with the 54_release_prerequisite label. I'd
say we're finally ready to switch to RC. The vote has passed some time
ago, so I'll create a 5.4-rc-1 release tonight and start a vote for a
public release.

What's left to do for the final release? Are there any more issues that
we should look at?
Not from me. I have a couple of improvements in mind, but they can be left
for a 5.4.1 release.
