What about:

[email protected]

Always good with a helpful qmail error message with no links..

But that just means that we should write out the details of actually
subscribing to the list at:

http://taverna.incubator.apache.org/community/contact/

Perhaps a trick is to remove the complete email address there so you
are not tempted to send directly before reading line number two - just
call it dev@taverna - most people should hopefully understand that
this is not a complete email address (unless we get that TLD!)

Hello everybody,

Should non-subscribers be able to mail to the users mailing list?

They won't see replies if they don't subscribe, nor will the pool of
knowledge increase.

The email should have dropped into a moderators inbox for accept/reject.

There was no notice and the person got a rejection from qmail-send. I asked
a colleague to try and he got the e-mail below.

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at apache.org.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following
addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<[email protected]>:
Must be sent from an @apache.org address or a subscriber address or an
address in LDAP.
