Hello, Apache TinkerPop 3.3.5 has just been released. It is mostly a maintenance release with bug fixes and optimizations, but also has a few minor features. Of particular note is the ability to anonymously construct the TraversalSource (i.e. without a Graph instance), which is especially useful for remote traversals. There is no longer a need to make use of EmptyGraph so as to have a Graph reference from which to call the traversal() method. So, the old way was:
gremlin> graph = EmptyGraph.instance() ==>emptygraph[empty] gremlin> g = graph.traversal().withRemote('conf/remote-graph.properties') ==>graphtraversalsource[emptygraph[empty], standard] Now, you can instead do things like: gremlin> g = traversal().withRemote('conf/remote-graph.properties') ==>graphtraversalsource[emptygraph[empty], standard] gremlin> g = traversal().withRemote(DriverRemoteConnection.using('localhost',8182)) ==>graphtraversalsource[emptygraph[empty], standard] As an added bonus, this method for TraversalSource construction is basically the same for .NET, Javascript and Python and is thus consistent.
