I think I've gotten this solidified now. Hopefully there is no more
significant change. Thanks for the early reviews. @krlawrence is still planning
to follow up with reference documentation and will arrive on a later PR in time
for release. Note the addition of the new Gremlin step semantic documentation -
hopefully it establishes a nice pattern for future expansion to cover the other
steps.
