Ted Wilmes commented on TINKERPOP-1016:
---------------------------------------

I was thinking a single new `gremlin-benchmark` module with dependencies to the
other modules. Somewhat similar to `gremlin-test` in that regard. I have a
branch with this approach and another one that is almost working that uses
build profiles so that the tests could live in the existing modules
(gremlin-core, etc.). I'll share those in a bit so folks can see the mechanics
of both approaches.

>
> Replace junit-benchmark with JMH. This includes the following tasks:
> * Evaluate which existing benchmarks should be kept and port them to JMH.
> * Add an initial JMH benchmark for TINKERPOP-957
> * See if we can trigger perf tests with the same scheme that is currently
> used {noformat}mvn verify -DskipPerformanceTests=true/false{noformat}
> * Write developer docs that outline our initial performance testing approach.
