Ranier (and Mark), Thanks, again. But I'm still stumped.
I've downloaded apache-tomcat-5.5.25.exe and it works just fine. This indicates that the Windows installer is okay. But apache-tomcat-5.5.17.exe gives me that error message (on two different machines). It just seems like that particular file has some kind of problem. I don't understand "Maybe a proxy between you and archive.apache.org has a bad file in its cache?" How would I deal with this? --Dan Schwartz Rainer Jung <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hello Daniel, > > Daniel Schwartz wrote: > > Hello Mark, > > > > Thanks for the quick reply. > > > > When I try to execute apache-tomcat-5.5.17.exe on WinXP or Win 2003 Server, > > I get > > the message: > > > > NSIS Error: > > The installer you are trying to use is corrupted or incomplete. > > This could be the result of a damaged disk, a failed download or a virus. > > ... > > The correct file metadata on archives.apache.org are: > > Size: 5090572 Bytes > MD5: 0bb2827c5eacf570b6064e24e0e6653b > SHA1: 7d31f66efb22b2fa60490e3bed7019c0a2b3cee4 > SHA256: 5b808abd5b7a3d561d690bba97c4c428215013e7f2e26ddd911e1cf63580ed90 > > The size of the file is close to the earlier and later versions. > > I can download and it works on my Windows system. > > > I've tried redoing the download several times, and still get this message. > > I don't understand why it works for you and not for me.
