Of course I have no clue who will use EE7 with MP, if he can have EE8 as

All I wanted is to make a clear disctinction between TomEE with Java7 and
TomEE which requires Java8 - thus the required bump to 7.1.x.


Hmm, technically we know how to do a 7.0 with a mp distro (all but mp on
java 7).


Im not against a 7.1 but if it only brings 10% of a MP distro im not
convinced it is wise to do it. Writing I even wonder if MP justifies a
minor bump.

Our online versioning policy references minor as a feature level marker. MP
distro doesnt bring any feature to most tomee users - as well as just a
java min version bump - so arent we too enthusiast here?

The important thing to keep in mind is users, not tech choices.
