Hey I think we are about to update to JavaMail 1.5 I started a while back to update both API and Impl on the Geronimo side.
I think probably now it would make sense to also start the work on JavaMail 1.6 Anyways, I had some fixes in there so we would pass more TCK tests. Not sure someone took it from there. I have been working on something else. But happy to share some thoughts for you to contribute if you are willing to. -- Jean-Louis Monteiro http://twitter.com/jlouismonteiro http://www.tomitribe.com On Wed, Aug 12, 2020 at 2:34 PM Zowalla, Richard < [email protected]> wrote: > Hi, > > Martin (Wiesner) and I were working on our SMTP server configuration. > As a consequence, we found, that TomEE 8 includes a rather old version > of javamail, which does not want to talkt to SMTP servers configured > with modern TLS versions (1.2, 1.3). > > My questions are: > > Are there any reasons, why we include javamail 1.4 (a very ancient > version) in the current TomEE versions? > > Is is possible to migrate to a newer version, such as jakarta.mail > 1.6.5 (https://eclipse-ee4j.github.io/mail/)? > > Or are we bound with 1.4 for legal reasons? > > Best > Richard >
