   There are a number of cases where licence header is not really needed (one 
such case are automatically generated files). It would be nice to have some 
ways of excluding the files - by .ignore. 
   
   It could be .rat-excludes embedded in the packages (maybe it already works 
this way ?) or specifying the exclusions in the defintion of the "product" - as 
some ignore entries.  
   
   Some of our releases contain such generated code (it also contains sources 
for those of course and there is a build process verified during release to see 
if those can be regenerated:
