   Let's discuss an example PURL from the spec which is actually something that
is also available directly from the ASF (or nearly directly):

   ```
   pkg:maven/org.apache.xmlgraphics/[email protected]?packaging=sources
   ```

   ```
   https://dlcdn.apache.org/xmlgraphics/batik/source/batik-src-1.19.tar.gz
https://downloads.apache.org/xmlgraphics/batik/source/batik-src-1.19.tar.gz.asc
https://downloads.apache.org/xmlgraphics/batik/source/batik-src-1.19.tar.gz.sha512
   ```

   How would you turn this into a purl? How would a generic type help? We could
develop an endpoint to interpret a purl type. Can I get some directed help? Or
should I just ask ChatGPT.
