And, now I am confused, for the answer I got at dev was
that *I was on the wrong list*. If someone there actually
answered my question, the reply never reached my inbox.
That the online listing of messages in the list (today)
stops at several days ago makes it impossible to know if
something was answered which hasn't reached me. Go figure.

Now, is there anybody on this list that can answer my
question? Others seem to be able to build OO using cygwin
on wintel, so I suspect I missed something that is possibly
an ambiguity in the documentation on building, or I really
missed a step. Anything is possible. The build doc says to
go from ./configure to dmake, and doesn't mention
./bootstrap as a means to create dmake. For that, you need
to infer steps not given.

To repeat, my question concerns creating dmake from
sources. It is my present understanding that dmake is
crafted by running ./bootstrap

Right now, that fails because a file dmake.exe is missing.
Clearly, it's not in the source code. There is a build.bat
file in /dmake directory in the source, but it fails for a
long list of dependencies not documented in any of the
build documents I have found.

I'd greatly appreciate someone telling me what I missed.
Thanks
Jack
