Completely uninstall the Embassy Trusted Security thing (or whatever it's called). (This ia s wag because I don't know if it is installed on your system, but if it's there *remove* it. If that doesn't help, help debugging the problem: Suspect (and, to test, uninstall (not just disable)) any realtime virus scanners, personal firewalls, file indexers (google desktop search) and anything else that hooks into file syscalls stuff. (Especially do this if step (a) made any difference). If it still hangs try to reduce what hangs into a small reproducible testcase. (i.e. if you find something that hangs "sometimes" put it in a loop to create something that definitely hangs for you. > A win32-tcsh build will freeze (apparently) executing the shell script > at "extras\source\misc_config\lang" 90% of the time. That is very appreciated! I tried reproducing (no even getting that problem) on three different machines, Opteron 2.4GHz/WinXPpro, PentiumD 3.2GHz/WinXPpro AMD XP1700/Win2Kpro but it never happened.
