Thanks for the quick reply. So you are working on an alternative for the
existing Buildbot (http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Buildbot)
infrastructure, right? What advantages over the existing Buildbots do
you expect to have/offer?

More like an extension. This idea basically came up from talks we had
with Mike Leibowitz who was with the OOo BuildBot project at Intel.
The current BuildBot is more oriented towards a project with one trunk
that builds reasonably fast on a single machine (5-10 minutes). The
concept of a build cluster with dynamically assignable nodes is not
support. Ie. the cluster nodes can be reconfigured in minutes to run
any x86 OS image we have (Linux, Win32, Solaris etc). Just abstracting
away this power behind a single "machine" in the BuildBot makes the
system much less usable. In the long term we want both the buildbot
slaves and the cluster to be operated using a single web interface.

So the user experience with the cluster would be:
- Pick my branch/CWS to build
- Request 50 nodes of win32 for a production build and 50 nodes of
win32 for a debug build
- Push into queue

A (short) while later, look at the logs, download installpacks etc.
