I was more thinking along the lines of: "Once a snapshot tree like
tags/DEV300_m35 is created, there is no need for anybody to ever modify
it again; so it would be nice if Subversion would support a concept that
prevented accidental modifications of such snapshot trees."
Which is exactly what a precommit hook would do.
