Hi,

The ASF Training project proposes issuing digital badges [1] to recognise
participation in ASF training courses, as well as potentially on behalf of
other ASF projects or the ASF itself.

To date, we have a proof of concept up and running that can issue test badges
(currently not using any ASF logos). You can see an example here, along with
the associated metadata hosted on the ASF Training website.

Baked badge (PNG with embedded metadata):

Assertion (JSON):

BadgeClass metadata:
https://training.apache.org/badges/test-badge/badgeclass.json

Issuer metadata:
https://training.apache.org/badges/test-badge/issuer.json

The badge can be verified with the embedded metadata and associated published
file.

I’ve also contacted data privacy to confirm there are no concerns from a data
protection standpoint, and trademarks is also fine with using the ASF marks in
these badges. Does marking have any concerns about this?

Kind regards,
Justin Mclean
