Yeah why not, I guess selection the whole line with the mouse then
changing it in one go would be easier! However there are still times
when one or two characters or words would need to be changed, so it must
be possible to make it do both. Select with mouse -> CTRL+character (or
menu choice) to change it all over or just CTRL+character to change the
character under the cursor and move the cursor one place to the right ;-)

selected text, instead of travelling single letters.
