Eric Riebling commented on UIMA-2092:
-------------------------------------
Additionaly, the instructions promise "much more detail later on" but then
never deliver more than the "Quick start for the impatient." In particular, it
would be nice to learn how to do this for a custom service and not a
ready-built PEAR which contains an executable Jar file. In the very least, how
does one create such an executable Jar file, if one wants to do things exactly
the way the quick start shows. Suppose one does not have a pear or wish to use
this mechanism, is there another mechanism? Possibly the one that was meant to
be provided in the detail later on?

> The SimpleServer documentation refers to a set of jar files that are only
> present in the 2.2.2-incubating binary distribution. They are not present,
> nor do they get created as far as I know, in any subsequent versions, unless
> there's a Maven Goal for creating them I'm unfamiliar with. In fact, as of
> Maven builds, there is no lib/ folder so the instructions refer to a
> nonexistant folder and nonexistant jar files.
