In my opinion that should be discussed for the framework. We could decide to
support some compressed xmi format. The compression could be independent for
the feature structures and the sofa. e.g. you might want to compress a text
sofa but not an image or audio sofa.
Another option which might help you could be support for a special zip package
which contains xmi files with one type system.
