It's so funny that you discuss switching UIMA to Java 6 just the same day that that there was a discussion about switching DKPro Core to Java 7 ;) Btw. that won't happen either, we'll stick to Java 6 for now. uimaFIT will also remain with Java 5 as long as UIMA sticks to that version.
