IMHO we were unable to come up with a suitable strategy to support projects
like uimaFIT compiling comfortably against v2 and v3. So my idea is to have a
uimaFIT v3 version and send v2 into maintenance mode. New features would go
only into v3 unless there is specific need/requests for them to go into the v2
branch. But anyway, at the moment I need to get some exposure to v3, so this is
currently the main motivation.
