I'm not sure how many of us are Perl users so you may not get a lot of 
feedback. 


Having said that, assuming you want to contribute, we would welcome the 
contribution to the codebase (provided it is reasonably complete and 
functional).  I have done a visual read of the code and it looks like a great 
start!
