Hello All,

One of the areas which slows adoption is the lack of detail in some of
the documentation. Particularly on how to get started. I propose a
series of surveys which will begin to document "acceptable practice"
to help new installations get started and to gather the collective
wisdom of the sages.

Towards that end, I would like to propose a storage survey. If you
wouldn't mind, please reply with the following information and I will
collate and create a wiki page.

Site: [optional]
Type: [e.g., direct-attached storage
(DAS), network-attached storage (NAS), storage-area network (SAN),
other]
Protocol:                            [e.g., NSF, CIFS, etc for NAS;
SCSI, Fiber Channel, iSCSI, FCoE, etc for SAN; RAID-level; etc.]
Image count:
Supported users:
Amount used/total: [useful in computing amount/image,
amount/user etc.]
Deployment status: [e.g., prototype, pilot, production, etc.]
Comments: [whatever else you feel we ought to
know; what you would do next time, your recommendations, etc.]

Note: besides thinking this is important for documentation, I am
gathering information to prepare an imminent budget request to "do it
right" and hence would appreciate a prompt response.

Mark
