I am Tanya Rai, a 2nd-year CSE student. I have just submitted my initial draft proposal for the AsterixDB Connector project on the GSoC portal. My proposal focuses on the "Datalake-friendly" initiative by implementing a SQL++ translation layer and cost estimation logic for the Wayang optimizer. I have already submitted 2 PRs to the repository to demonstrate my familiarity with the pluggable backend architecture. I would greatly appreciate any early feedback on my Operator Mapping table or the Implementation Timeline so I can refine the technical details before the final submission.
