It's taken from the usability principles section. Not the Gnome-specific 
section. Principles of usability are fairly common and standard. Especialy 
for electronic medium. This page talks about "Keep It Simple and Pretty". 
That's a pretty general concept, and it certainly applies to us. I just 
assume people here can get beyond the word "application" on the page.
