I still don't understand why we can't have a new home page *now* while the 
PLs debate over the details -- and well before OOo2.0 comes out. So we 
change the page later to one the PLs choose, what's the big deal?

In fact, if one of the proposed new pages were on the site now, we could 
run some usability tests and see what the problems are, then use that 
insight when refining the design.

Or are you (Maarten, Louis, Kay) saying that the page under consideration 
doesn't work, technically? I thought Matthew's page worked, but maybe I'm 
wrong.
