That's what happens when you leave a website decision to people who are not web page designers, have not studied usability, and have not participated in the development process.

It's like choosing the absolute worst person possible for each decision. The website team goes through endless discussion and refinement to produce a good site proposal, then it gets sent to people who know nothing of the discussion and will just fall into the traps that the website team went through and tried to avoid.


Maybe you've already had such bad experience with this, but the thing is, they are not discussing the proposals yet. There has been a short discussion, but the PL's have only expressed their concerns with current design (mostly content related) and some expressed what style they favoured. But their input, and our own under developped proposals, need to move to a more final state. That's something what we're working now on (and of course presenting this content well). When finished, they'll vote on it again.
