I made the switch to open source software just recently for a
number of reasons, one major one being that I want to support this
community. I 've moved most of my software over to open source and
have found the transition rather impressive.

As an Arab (educated in the US, by the way), I would love to do
anything and everything I can to bring this software the support of
the Arab community. I honestly have no idea what support
OpenOffice.org has received from the Arab community, but
regardless, I would either like a very active role in the current
effort, or would like to initiate an effort if one has not yet been.
Thanks! Earlier this year, or perhaps last, there was a special
conference on OOo and FOSS in Arabic-speaking regions. Our l10n leads
participated. We also have an Arabic language project, which you are
welcome to join, http://ar.openoffice.org/. Not sure of its status.
I can offer my web design services to OpenOffice.org, assisting in
whichever areas you would like me to. I can safely say that I am
willing to dedicate each Thursday to work related to this project,
and my role in it (for now). I intend to contribute more than that
as time goes by, but for now, this is what I can safely guarantee.
I can also use my business connections, associations and
relationships here in the Middle-East to help push this project
forward in the region.

OOoCon, our annual convention, and they may need help with the

information. Further, if Arabic speaking regions are uninformed of
it, or wish to participate, they are welcome. As well, I am quite
interested in furthering OOo in Arabic speaking regions, as we can do
a better job of RTL than others, I daresay :-)
I hope that my role in OpenOffice.org can grow and that my
contributions can hopefully make a difference.
