I don't have IE, so I cannot reproduce and did not look further into
it...
It is apparently not the left hand menu which is causing the problem. My
code for our index.html page also checks out okay for syntax, but when
it is served up to the viewer there is a problem where it includes my code.

My stuff starts at the <img. That <p> just before it is the problem. The
closing </p> occurs after the included code and all the errors reported
by the syntax checker result from that.
What can be done about it?
