I think we could have a super-easy solution for RSS for the News page.
I've done this for the Polish project (see pl.openoffice.org/rss.xml):
the idea is that a script can simply scrape content as long as the
content is structured, and then you simply run the script before
committing the new version of the news page to the repository (there are
probably scripts used by webmasters anyway for applying all the styling
etc.).
The solution for Polish is based on GAWK, and the source is here:

I think this could be a welcome enhancement.
