Whether one is a novice user, or advance user, makes no difference at
all. The issue at hand is that the box and items in that box are
extremely difficult to see and read - even when highlighted.

Bear in mind that many OOo users may/do have sight disabilities and will
find the box impossible to see & use. It should be quite easy to
increase the brightness/contrast while keeping it ascetically pleasing,
and at least somewhat Accessability friendly.
