I have returned from my (too) short hiatus, and got back to work on the
Java detection business. I *think* this may actually work the way I want
it too now...

What I've scripted this to do is ONLY supply the applet approach if the
LiveConnect approach does not work. So, hopefully, your experiences will
bear this out. You'll see the normal debugging banter so don't be alarmed.

I've tested in FF 2.0.x, with and without Java enabled; and Konqueror
3.5 with and without java enabled, and results are what I expected/ wanted.
