OK, I just tried that with a test page: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Main_page_stats which is an exact copy of the Tempate being used to add teh page stats into the Main page. In the Main page I replaced the template call with the transclusion call: {{#lst:Main page stats|stats}} The result is still the same - which makes sense when you consider that this isn't doing anything different except calling the code from a different spot.... the Main page loads very very slowly (even slower if you are saving an edit).
