Having a Wicket 10.0-M1 would be great. It would help downstream projects to also prepare their M1 releases. There are already several projects that have their wicket-10 branches, for second tier downstream projects (i.e. those that do not only rely on Wicket but also e.g. Wicket Bootstrap or Wicket Spring), it is currently difficult to prepare upgrade branches and to build them on CI systems because of the lack of milestone releases. For example, I have been able to get INCEpTION (project I work on, not ASF) to build against a bunch of locally compiled Wicket 10 branches - but I would really like to be able to have a green CI build as well...
