Can you create a unit test or similar that shows the issue? I'm not sure what
the problem is.
For the getType/getTypeName thing... if the type is an anonymous type defined
within the element, then you have to use getType(). If the attribute or
element refers to another top level type (or type in another schema/namespace),
the getTypeName provides the name that is needed to lookup the type.
