I'd like to take a better look at what we've got before opining on that.

I presume you've been committing conformance tests for the new functions along
with their implementations?

Subject: xalanj new release proposal

Hi all,
Over the past few months, we've implemented various XSLT 3.0 and
XPath 3.1 language features, and various XPath 3.1 functions from F&O
library, on XalanJ's dev repos branch 'xalan-j_xslt3.0'.

I've thought that, it may be good to share with XalanJ community, an
implementation status of these XSL 3.0 family of languages features
within XalanJ.

I've put together, a pdf document at location
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RGKqMwLRN1UBlk9GrlAnW82lNqk1WMrf/view?usp=drive_link
(this information is on my personal link as of now), mentioning
XalanJ's implementation status of XSL 3.0 family of languages
features, as of now.

I think it may be ok, if we could make a XalanJ release around these
days, from the XalanJ's dev repos branch xalan-j_xslt3.0, perhaps
named as xalan-j_xsl3_2.8.0_alpha1, subject to having a XalanJ Maven
build-process as necessary.

A simultaneous XalanJ release package may be made, from XalanJ's dev
repos branch 'master', perhaps named as xalan-j_2.7.4, if we've XalanJ
implementation improvements available wrt XalanJ 2.7.3 release,
subject to having a XalanJ Maven build-process as necessary.

People like Gary, Joseph may advise whether we may make XalanJ's RCs
for review by XalanJ team, for the above mentioned XalanJ proposed
release packages.
