If you want to know why the refactoring will probably be a separate PR: The branch in this PR passed testing. The new refactored branch does not. It may be a change in my environment, or the two may not be as similar as they should be. Admittedly I've been continuing to refine the pom, and may have stepped on something. But I am *not* overwriting the one that passed testing with one that's having trouble. But this is why I was reluctant to do the refactoring.
