Review Comment:
I do not expect a NPE, but the javadoc says that NPE will be thrown if the
input parameter is `null`. So I am simulating a NPE here, which is as good as
any other runtime exception that might be thrown. An I/O operation can throw an
exception, which is why I am covering that code path. The method is called from
a try with resources, which forces me to handle a possible I/O exception. Due
to the possible NPE, I am catching more than just I/O exceptions. Your comment
said I should even catch all throwables, which I won't so. Either way, to cover
the exception handling block, I need to throw an exception in this test. NPE is
just an arbitrary choice.
