Hello Pedro, thanks for your fast help. In the meanwhile I figured out a few things on my own. There seem to be a lot of updating problems and smaller bugs that make one's live really hard.
>XForms is a standard defined using XML. This means that Xforms can be used >without XHTML. Actually, this is what >OOo2.0 does : it includes XForms in its >XML. That's a good hint. So the correct formulation of my previous message would be I want to compare capabilities and ease of use of creating forms using (1) OO 2.0 XForms support, (2) FormsPlayer (fill out forms) and XMLspy (create forms) XForms + XHTML support, (3) MS Word 2003 professional XML forms, (4) Infopath forms, (5) Adobe Acrobat XML forms. >The Function for XForms support are still not all included. For the moment, >there are still many "issues" about >it. The last time I tried, I was able to >save my document as an odt file. >And then, if you look at the content.xml in your odt file (which is a zip >archive), you willnotice the XForms part. That's true. I can save the file as odt and inside the content.xml is an Xforms part that holds the instance data. Nevertheless I was looking for a way to put it as a separate file on disk and it seems that the only thing I was missing up to now is the check box to "link instance" with the XML file. Hmm, the import still seems to have some problems as it is creating several unnamed elements with spaces or some control characters as data. So most of the things are working now for me. There are only two unresolved issues at the moment. - My calculated field "Gesamtkosten" that is summing all costs is always zero. - I cannot dynamically create new "lines" in my form that adds a "Fahrtabschnitt" element into the instance and creates the respective GUI elements. Word is not able to do this as well (without using self-made macros), but Infopath can do that quite easily. I attach the most recent form I have created in case anybody is interested. Cheers, Ren
