Hi Michael
You've said you like to work in an XML and XSLT area. One topic where we really need help are the DocBooc filters. The DocBook filters actually are XSLT stylesheets that convert DocBook to OpenOffice.org XML and vice versa. They currently support some basic features, but many are missing. They also have not been adapted to the new OpenDocument format used by OOo 2.0.
Are the DocBook filters a topic that is of interest for you? If yes, I will try to collect some additional information regarding these filters.
Some weeks ago i announced ooo2dbk which is an external python tool + xslt to generate docbook files from OOo sxw file format.
It widely extends the no more supported ooo2sdbk from Eric Bellot and handles more and more metadatas
Moreover were are about to release a new version contaning an autopilot (wizard) helping on collecting metadatas and a complete template (both in french and english, ready to be translated). This should be available before the end of the week.
an old version of the xslt filter can be found there: http://www.indesko.com/sites/en/downloads/ooo2dbk/view
a lot more than stated in this page is actually available. I'll update it with the new release
It can handle images, sections, bibliography, glossary, various semantic formating aso
I think it would be a good starting point to enhance it. The next step for us is to handle OpenDocument format
So, please feel free to give me any advice on contributing efficiently Yop can also reference it on the xml.ooo page. OOo2dbk is free, licenced uinder LGPL
I'll let you know soon for the new release
Regards
Laurent
