Hi,

Our office had a demo yesterday of coming microsoft office capabilities and
my boss asked me to draw up a comparison of the two suites and especially
their standards compliance etc. vis a vis the formats supported by the
applications:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/developers/ecmafaq.mspx

Since this is the only list I'm a member of that might have something
pertinent to say on it I thought I would ask the members of the list, even
though it is somewhat off the topic of the list.
We're not that concerned a propos licensing issues, patents etc. unless
someone can show how the MS covenant to only use said patents defensively.

I am of course already strongly prejudiced in favor of ODF and think it's
support of various XML based standards as objects or components is the way to
go, but somebody else might have some good insights. Despite said strong
prejudice I will of course try to be critical of any points made in ODF
favor.
Cheers,
Bryan Rasmussen
