Yup, I found this too. I reported a bug for debian:

the program itself is ok and the documentation remains out of date (not
speaking about ooo2)
i don't know if the debian packet are up to date
The metadatas are handled by user-defineid fields and it works with
bibliography, glossaries, preface and introduction. It is docbook 4.4
and generates book and articles
I also tried the newer version 2.1.0 and it gives me:
