Looks like you need to add <xsl:template match="text:line-break"> <xsl:text> </xsl:text> </xsl:template>
BTW I have absolutely no idea how to select a particular xsl engine via openoffice.
You need one to operate on the output of open office. How did you get the docbook? When you find the stylesheet, look for such a template.
