acl on files can be modified with the jahia engine (file permission menu), with the standard webdav api, or with the jahia wrapper davfileaccess. as i told before, you can use these apis for any file manipulation operation. the xml file is just used by slide for initialization of the db and should not be modified.

The Slide implementation has been slightly modified in order to automatically map the Jahia ACL to the Slide ACL system. But I do not know exactly how this was done, as we did not develop it on our side...
