Mmmh I don't know... If the client don't accept anonymous access on a distant application server, it is difficult to fix it from the server side... :-(
Looks like a bad security feature from IE which works fine under Firefox... Perhaps try to write to Microsoft ;-)

Hi Stéphane,
This does work, but on an individual basis and we do not have control of the browser settings of our users. Are there any other solutions that would fix this for all IE users?

Hi,
Yes, this is a default security feature of IE (this works fine with Firefox). If you enable anonymous login on internet sites (Internet Options > Security Folder > Internet Icon > Custom Level > at the bottom, you have User Authentification - Logon - Anonymous Logon > Please enable this one). Once done, this should then work.
Else you may also add these specific Jahia sites in the trusted zone and do the same operations (in order to only allow anonymous login for these specific sites).

Hi!
If you use Office 2003 with Internet Explorer you may be prompted for authentication when you open Office files that are located in your WebDAV folder.
Exemple :
http://www.jahia.org/jahia/page371.html
If you try to open "Low-level Technical Presentation -> jahiadev2.ppt " you will be prompted for authentication.
Does anyone have any suggestion on how to disable this feature ?
Thanks in advance
Yan Bouchard

I have uploaded a number of files to a Group private area/directory on Jahia release 4.0.6_01. When I log in as a member of the Group (using IE) I am able to access all files except PowerPoint files. When I click on a PowerPoint file within the private folder it prompts me for a username and password. After clicking on cancel 3 times it then opens the file. This issue does not happen in Mozilla. Could this be an issue with webdav and IE PowerPoint plug-in?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
